Current Studies & Coming Opportunities

The Alpha Course : Dinner September 12th, 5:00p.m.
Alpha Starts: September 19th, 5:00 p.m.
An Opportunity to Explore the Meaning of Life

What does Alpha involve?
The Alpha Course is an eleven week practical introduction to the Christian faith.  It is ideal for everyone:  people interested in investigating Christianity, newcomers to the church, new Christians, Christians who want to brush up on the basics, and those needing help expressing their faith and putting words to what they believe.

Each Alpha evening begins with an informal dinner, followed by singing, a topical video presentation, dessert, and small group discussions.  Each evening is a different topic such as:
               Why Did Jesus Die?
Why and How Do I Pray?
How Can I be Sure of My Faith?
               Who Is the Holy Spirit?
               How Can I Resist Evil?
               Does God
Heal Today?

There is no "homework" involved, child-care is provided, you get a great meal and good fellowship, and there is no cost to you.  It's absolutely free.  We just want you to come!

What is the Alpha Dinner?
The Alpha Dinner is a time to come and see what the Alpha Course is all about, then decide if you'd like to take the course.  The evening includes a meal, a video presentation like the course so that you can see what it will be, dessert, and an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the course.  No pressure, no hassles, no cost to you, but a great opportunity.

When is the Next Alpha Course and Dinner?
The next Alpha Dinner will be this fall, in the Fellowship Hall.  We currently run two courses a year starting one in January, and the other late August or early September.  There is no cost to you, but in order to have enough food and provide child-care as needed, we would like to know if you are coming.  So please call the church office at 585-1665 to reserve a place.

The Marriage Course

Dinner September 12th, 5:00 p.m.   Course starts September 19th, 5:00 p.m.
The Marriage Course is a seven week opportunity to enhance your marriage and develop communication skills.  It is for any married couple - whether you have been married less than a year or more than forty.  It is a great time to share a meal together, hear a presentation on topics that matter to your marriage, talk to each other, and have fabulous desserts!  Currently we are running the Marriage Course on Sunday evenings alongside the Alpha Course.

 Brown Bag Study
There will be a new Bible Study starting September 15, at 12:00 p.m. in the Library. This is a brown bag study so be sure to bring your lunch.

Pastor Bill Duke will be leading this course and the subject will be I & II Corinthians.
The introduction and orientation on September 15 will be Who is Paul? A study bible would be helpful.

Please call Shirley, at the church office to sign up and get a copy of the schedule and lesson plan for each week.
